NeuroAesthetics & Wellness Program

At North Texas Institute of Neurology, Rheumatology and Headache, we use neurotoxin medications (such as Botox and similar agents) every day to treat medical conditions like chronic migraine and cervical dystonia. These are prescription biologic drugs that must be dosed, diluted, and injected very precisely for safety and effectiveness.

Many of our patients also receive cosmetic neurotoxin injections elsewhere. That creates several problems for us as your therapeutic injectors:

  • We often have no documentation on which product was used, what dose was given, or how it was diluted.
  • We cannot verify product source or storage, which matters with biologic medications.
  • Previous injections can change muscle activity, which directly affects how we plan your therapeutic treatment.
  • In rare cases, repeated or improperly used neurotoxins may contribute to reduced response over time, so tracking total exposure is important.

For your safety and to preserve the effectiveness of your medical treatments, we strongly prefer that both your medical and cosmetic neurotoxin care occur in a coordinated, medically supervised setting.

What is the NeuroAesthetics & Wellness program?

North Texas Institute of Neurology, Rheumatology and Headache is now pleased to offer a NeuroAesthetics program for qualifying patients. This service provides cosmetic neurotoxin injections in the same clinic that manages your medical neurotoxin therapy.

  • All injections are performed by our Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner, Ashley Brown, CRNA, who is specifically trained in both facial aesthetics and neurotoxin safety.
  • Treatments occur under physician oversight, in compliance with Texas regulations for neurotoxin use in a medical setting.
  • We use FDA approved neuromodulator products from verified medical distributors, with standardized dilution and dosing protocols.
  • Cosmetic services are offered for a separate outofpocket fee, since they are not covered by insurance.

This structure lets us integrate your cosmetic plan with your therapeutic plan, instead of treating them as two unrelated sets of injections.

Why this matters for your care

Having your cosmetic and therapeutic neurotoxin care coordinated in our clinic offers several advantages:

  • Safety: We know exactly which product, dose, dilution, and injection pattern were used for both your medical and cosmetic treatments, which reduces the chance of unwanted side effects and overlapping doses.
  • Consistency: We follow standardized protocols and FDA dosing limits, and we document every injection in your medical record.
  • Effectiveness: Understanding your cosmetic injections helps us plan your migraine or dystonia treatment more precisely, so we target the right muscles and avoid under or overtreatment.
  • Longterm planning: Because neurotoxin exposure is cumulative over time, tracking all of your injections in one place may help reduce the risk of reduced response or other longterm issues.

In short, our goal is to protect your therapeutic outcomes while still giving you access to highquality aesthetic care.

What this means for patients

If you are receiving or plan to receive neurotoxin injections for chronic migraine, cervical dystonia, or other neurologic conditions at our clinic, we strongly encourage you to have your cosmetic neurotoxin treatments done through our NeuroAesthetics program.

  • Cosmetic treatments are optional and are provided for a fee, separate from your insurance covered therapeutic care.
  • Not every patient is a candidate; Ashley Brown, CRNA, will evaluate you to determine if cosmetic treatment is appropriate and safe in your situation.
  • If you already receive cosmetic injections elsewhere, we may ask for detailed records so we can safely plan your therapeutic dosing.

If you are interested in our NeuroAesthetics program, please let our front desk or your neurologist know, and we will arrange a consultation with Ashley Brown, CRNA.
